11-12-18… 9 Years….

Today we celebrate 9 years of being in business!!

9 years ago right after the birth of my first child, I decided to take a leap of faith and a $40,000 pay cut to strike out on my own and go full time in my business.  Everyone said I was crazy.  My family advised against it, my friends told me not to.  We are in the middle of a recession, the economy is terrible, you just had a baby, etc, etc.

But something inside of me said, ‘I know this can work.’  It was probably part arrogance, part ignorance, but I felt like I could do it, so I did.

We started off in 800 square feet of space with 3 people.  I borrowed $12,000 from my brother because no bank would loan me any money.  We had 3 squat racks, some barbells, a climbing rope, a homemade pull up rig, some wall balls, and a few kettlebells, that was it.  In 3 months, we had 30 people and needed to move, and buy more equipment. That’s when we found our current building.  I borrowed $25,000 from my step dad to fund the build out and equipment purchases and began growing the business.  It was at that point where I knew we had something special and I could make this thing work.

Since then, we have helped thousands of people.  Literally thousands.  We’ve had the opportunity to change people’s lives and to me that’s amazing.  I truly feel I am working where I’m gifted and I love my life, my business, the staff, and all our members.

30% of all small business fail during the first 2 years of operation.  50% during the first 5 years fail, and 66% during the first 10 years.

We are 9 years in and continually change people’s lives.  Thank you so much for believing in us, and I can’t wait to see where the next 9 years takes us!
