12-17-15 Doing the Hard Things…

The other day we had a workout with a lot of burpees in it….

I get it burpees are hard and no fun.  I got some back lash from people, and attendance was down that day.

Guess what guys, burpees are great for you.  They’re a full body movement.  They are enormously beneficial for your heart and lungs, and they are functional because essentially it’s training you how to pick yourself up off the ground.  In addition it will also help you with your balance if you were to fall.  By training this movement, if you did lose your balance and fall you have less likelihood of getting hurt.

Most importantly though, is they increase your mental toughness.  Burpees are very difficult and by doing something that’s difficult it will help shape you into a better person.

What we do is hard.  You wouldn’t want it to be easy, if it were easy nobody would get results.  We do what we do because it works.  Follow the system, show up, be consistent, don’t cherry pick workouts because they hard.  If you do that you’ll never get better.

Sometimes it’s best to embrace the suck.

AND if life knocks you down, do a burpee! (Yay burpees)
