5-24-18… Patience..

Currently we are digging a pool at my house.  This project has been two years of savings in the making but it’s finally happening.  I’m so excited to get it done but it’s been a serious test in patience.  You see, there are steps that have to happen before other steps can be completed.  For example, we had to get on the digging guys schedule.  His schedule was hindered by the weather and we had a ton of rain.  So, we spent time waiting and waiting. Then finally the whole got dug, the liner went in, it was filled with water, the pump is running, things seemed to be moving so quickly.  It’s super exciting.  Then….

We need an electrician.  It started raining and my yard is one giant mud hole too wet to do electrical work. So now we are waiting again.  One he gets done, we have to wait on the code enforcement to inspect the electrical.  Once that gets done we have to wait on the stone guy and the concrete guy.  All of which are backed up because of the rain.  No matter how excited we are, how much disappointment we have about the schedule etc, the pool will be done in due time when it gets done.  It takes time.

Nothing we ever want is one the same time line that we want it on.  Fitness is the same way.  We want to be able to have 6 pack abs tomorrow and drop 80 lbs in 2 weeks.  We want to be able to do a pull up without a band etc.  Those things don’t happen over night.  They require time, consistency, hard work, and patience.  No matter how much we get frustrated.  Cry, cuss, fuss, hop to different programs etc.  You will still need time, consistency, hard work, and patience.  There are things you can do to expedite the process some.  For example, dial in your nutrition.  Buy some PT sessions to focus on a particular skill.  Train consistently.  In the end though, be patient.  That’s the most important.  Follow the plan, take care of what you can take care of and you will see results.  Stick with it.

Hopefully, I’ll be able to swim in my pool by July 4th, but who knows….
