5-6-20… New Normal

WE’RE BACK!!!

Classes are back in session and man it feels incredible for that to be the case.  That being said, things look a little different.  We have to sanitize our hands when we enter the building, we can’t use a water fountain, and all of our equipment has to be wiped down etc.  It’s different, but the workouts we are providing are still very much effective and the same as what we were doing when we left.

It’s been brought to my attention that some other fitness places may not be doing the same things or taking the extra precautions we are taking.  I just want you to know, that WE are doing EVERYTHING we are supposed to be doing by the mandates put forth by our local government and our state government.  So, while some things we are doing may be inconvenient, we wholeheartedly believe that we are doing everything within our power to create a safe environment to work out in.  Our goal is to further our health and we’ll use every precaution necessary to limit the possibility of exposure to Covid or anything else that may diminish our health.

Thank all of you so much for sticking with us.  We are doing our very best to provide the best services possible.  That being said, we have decided to continue to provide online classes at 9AM and 6PM every day along with our live sessions in order to service everyone the best we know how.  Please let me know if there is anything else we can do to help your progress towards you goals.

In other news…

May 3rd was Layla’s birthday.  We are a little late to the party, thanks a lot covid, but we are doing her workout today.  Here is a my yearly write up about her birthday…

She turned 10 years old this year!

Every year I’m blown away thinking about all that has happened in those 10 years both with my kids and as a business at CFB and now LivLimitless.

It’s so crazy, “they” weren’t kidding when they said time flies.

I’ve written about this before, but just in case you haven’t heard the story…. When I quit my full time job to go full time at what was then CFB my daughter was just a few weeks old.

Yep you heard that right, I quit my full time job to chase my passion and my dream and run my own business into the unknown with a brand new baby girl in my arms.

To say that I was afraid and nervous would be an understatement. I was scared sh*t-less. When I made the calculations I was like, “well it’s going to be a $50,000 pay cut up front, if I need to I can sell the truck, and cut the cable tv, yadayada.”

Yep I was there… but I had a dream…..

Some people would say that was selfish.

For me, I couldn’t see it any other way. With my job I was looking at going to work every day at 2PM and working until 10ish or later.  I had a new baby on the way, but I traveled a lot of weekends and working late every day, I’d never see my kid. Something inside of me told me that I could do it, AND more than that, I was passionate about what I was doing.

For awhile I thought I could do both jobs, but my current boss said something that was really insightful to me…. I was ticked at the time, but looking back it was some of the best advice anyone ever gave me. He said, “I’m paying you a full time salary for you to be here full time and you’re not, you’re divided attention between here and your gym. Likewise, your clients are paying you to be full time at the gym and you’re not fully engaged there either because you have to be here.”

In essence I was serving two masters and not doing a good job at both, so I took the leap. I think the do or die was what made it successful, and although we’ve been through ups and downs, I’m excited to say that things are doing well. I love my business, I love my job, I love my family, I love my staff, and I love that we change lives on the daily.

In the past few years I’ve also been blessed with an incredible wife and bonus mom to my kids.  She loves them so well, and they love her so much.  Our lives are truly blessed, I’m so grateful.  Thank you guys for allowing us to do do what we do, and thanks Layla for being an awesome kid for the 10 years you’ve been here.
