We all want the fast fix- weight loss surgery, taking a pill, intermittent fasting, low carb, no carb, keto, paleo, juice fasts, whatever you want to drop in here. All those things offer fast fixes to an underlying problem.
If your shoe is giving you blisters on your foot, you can put a bandaid on the blister and it will give you temporary relief, but if you continue to wear the same shoes over and over again, it’s likely you will still get blisters.
Why? because you didn’t change the underlying problem.
If you have a lot of weight to lose, there is an underlying problem there. Namely your habits. If your habits don’t change permanently then you will revert right back to where you were.
For example, there are many people that have weight loss surgery, then get all excited, change their habits to begin with, and then 6 months later or less revert right back to their old habits. They they gain the weight right back and end up at my gym still 100+ pounds overweight. This happens to thousands of people all over the world.
You see, unless they change their habits for good, the change will not be permanent. Read that again.
You MUST focus on a lifestyle change, and that is very hard.
It is doable though, and usually requires help from the outside. This is where coaching comes into play.
Work with a coach, make an investment in yourself, and make lifestyle changes that will make permanent changes to your situation.
Stop looking for the fast fix, because anything that promises things that seem too good to be true probably is. There’s no substitute for hard work and consistent persistance.
