6-18-20… Calling Something What It Is..

Sometimes you just have to call it what it is.  We spend all this time telling stories to ourselves, selling ourselves something that makes us feel better because we don’t want to face the truth.

NONE of us are perfect.  We all have things that we need to improve on.

Anthony, and I were having a discussion.  Anthony is always Mr. Nice Guy, and that’s really him, not a facade, he’s a super gentle, kind loving soul and I love him dearly.  So in the conversation I was talking about my macros and how I’ve only had 3 cheat meals in 8 weeks.  I’ve been super dialed in, and I’ve also worked out 5 days a week for 8 weeks.  He was like, ‘I can tell the difference in you.  You’re doing great.’  I was like yeah I’ve dropped 20lbs of fat so far.  I really let myself go, I gained a lot of fat.  Anthony being Anthony was like, ‘Nah man, you just got a little smooth on top of your muscles.’

I responded with, ‘Dude I added 20lbs of fat. There’s no beating around the bush.  It is what it is.’

The point is, I can tell myself all kinds of excuses, and give reasons for why it happened, but it really doesn’t matter.  Here are the facts….

– I didn’t make good nutrition and a training a priority.  (Yes I had a back injury, I couldn’t train hard, but my fork hand wasn’t broken, and I worked it out regularly)

– I gained 20lbs of fat.  It happened.  It happens with me if I don’t stay dialed in.  It sucks, but it’s what my body does.

– In order to make changes, I had to make a decision that dialing it in is going to now be a priority.

– I now have to continue to execute on the plan.

That’s it.  Sometimes, you need to call it what it is, figure out what needs to be done to change it, and then execute.

Is there anything in your life currently where this needs to be done?  Maybe call yourself out.  It could be the catalyst for the change you want!

*** to be clear, the above has nothing to do with the picture of the wonderful Brittany.  I just thought it was a great picture 🙂
