7-4-19… Happy July 4th!!

Today we celebrate our independence, the day when we decided to become our own country, and be free.  Many of us take our freedoms for granted every day, but I think it’s important to stop and pay tribute every once in awhile for those who paid for our freedom with their blood.  We may not agree on everything, we have a lot of things that are broken in this country, but we still get the freedom to live, learn, earn income, eat, play, complain, and not have to worry too much about whether we will be coming home that evening.

We are doing a hero workout today in honor of someone who was killed in action fighting for our country.  Here is his story:

U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration Special Agent Michael E. Weston, 37, assigned to the Kabul Country Office in Kabul, Afghanistan, was killed on October 29, 2009, when the helicopter he was in crashed in western Afghanistan. He is survived by his wife Cynthia Tidler, parents Judy Zarit and Steve Weston, and brother Thomas.
