9-7-21…. Survival Mode….

Ever feel like you’re just in survival mode?

Sometimes life throws things at you, and the only thing you can do is just survive. We all go through crazy times.

Last week was one of those weeks for me. To start with, my early morning coach’s wife had Covid, so he’s out for two weeks. My afternoon coach on Monday was traveling back from a competition, so he was out that evening. The kids were at our house this weekend, which is always hectic between back and forth to school and sports etc. It was just a very hectic week.

I felt like I was continually running on fumes. Even so, I had to prioritize what needed to be done. For example, this blog did not get written last week. I wanted to, but I just couldn’t get to it.

When life get’s hectic some things get cut. You need to have some non negotiables that don’t get cut no matter what. For me, those included, getting kids to and from school and sports. Making sure, my clients were taken care of. Making sure phone calls were made to people interested in the gym. The list goes on, but lastly, following good nutrition and exercising.

You see most people, as soon as life gets hectic, they toss out good nutrition and exercise. If your health is a priority, you have to make good nutrition and exercise a priority. Even if it’s not optimal, you may not have the time to dedicate to hours at the gym, but even if you get in three hours a week, that’s enough to keep the ball moving forward. You may not have time to cook a huge meal, but cooking some ground turkey as taco meat takes 7 mins.

I’m not saying this to brag, or make you feel bad. I’m just merely pointing out, that if you want to make it happen, it will happen. Even when life gets crazy, you make the important things happen.

What can you do this week, even if you’re in survival mode, to make sure you’re still progressing your health?

PS: Being healthy is the best thing you can do for your family
