On the Subject of Tracking….

I wrote yesterday about tracking workouts and the importance of that. Now let’s take it one step further…

What else should you track to be successful?

How about your nutrition? Do you write down what you eat everyday?

Did you know that there are certain habits called keystone habits. Keystone habits translate into making other unrelated parts of your life better from doing that habit. For example, exercise is a keystone habit. People who exercise make more money. People who exercise have more happiness in their life etc.

Writing down what you eat every day is a keystone habit. When you do it, it positively affects other areas of your life. Tracking what you put into your body can be very helpful in understanding your results as well as how you feel.

Start writing things that you eat down, and then write how you feel 1 hour and 90 minutes later. Do you feel lethargic? Do you feel energized? Do you feel foggy in your thoughts? These can all be indicators that the food you ate had a positive or negative effect on you.

I track my food pretty regularly. You can do it by hand or in an app. I use myfitnesspal app and love it.

What your favorite way to track your food intake?
