This past weekend was our boot camp graduation. It was so awesome to see so many transformations happen, and to see how our program can positively affect so many people.
It truly is a blessing to be able to be a part of a program that is truly changing lives. We received so much love over the weekend and I’m so grateful and humbled by the opportunity to be a part of positive life change.
I thought I’d share with you an excerpt from a post sent to me by one of the bootcampers after the graduation ceremony. I deleted names so that she wouldn’t get embarrassed.
The first week in June I enrolled my 10 yr old daughter in an awesome kid-friendly fitness camp. The first day I watched my daughter cry and struggle to push through the workout. I was on the sideline telling her to push through, but felt pretty hypocritical inside because the truth is, I couldn’t walk across the street without feeling like I was gonna pass out.
It was at that point that I decided to join World’s Best Bootcamp Memphis. Enlistment Day was horrible for me because I couldn’t master much of anything, but I stuck with it and made it a point to go home and retry the weekly workouts my daughter.
Each week, the troop grew stronger together and encouraged beyond anything I had ever experienced amongst initial strangers.
All of that to say thank you Krystal Durfee, Justin Emmons, Jack Hall & Troop 011 for being so inspirational on this physical and mental transformation journey. So many great things happened as a result :
1.) My daughter and I grew stronger together!!
2.) My daughter lost 6 lbs and is making healthier food choices!!
3.) I lost 3.25 inches!!
4.) I entered the program doing 23 squats in 1 minute and finished doing 47 in 1 minute; 16 pushups in 1min and finished doing 30 in 1min
5.) It took me 45+ minutes to walk 1.5 miles, but I jogged/walked 1 mile today in 14:10.
6.) Our baseline test required us to do a 400m run, 40squats, 30 situps, 20 pushups and 10 burpees in 10minutes. I only managed to complete the wlk, squats, & situps on enlistment day BUT TODAY I completed everything in 6:10!!!
I thank God for my friends and family for ALWAYS supporting me. Your presence is a constant reminder of God’s blessings, love, and favor for me. Thank you!!!
