What’s The Worst That Could Happen?

didyoudie

It’s so funny to me the conversations I have with people about fitness or nutrition etc.

I will be talking with someone about what I do, and many times their response is, ‘Oh I couldn’t do that, or that’s way too hard for me.’  My question is why don’t you try and see what could happen?

Or we talk about nutrition, and someone says, ‘I could never give up bread.’  Really?  You must have bread in order to sustain life?  I don’t recall reading in my physiology books a requirement to eat bread for survival.

Of course these are silly examples, but the point is this.  We are so self limiting in our beliefs sometimes.  We are scared to start a new job.  We are scared to try a new dietary approach.  We are scared to try a new fitness program.  We resolve ourselves to the idea that we can’t do it, and it’s just for someone else.

My question is this…. What’s the worst that could happen?

To me the answer to that question is, you try it out and it doesn’t work.  Am I right? You try a new nutrition or fitness program and you don’t get results.  Is that any worse then where you’re at now? You’re out a few dollars for the program, is that any worse then the P90X dvd you have sitting on the shelf.  You went without bread for a month, did you die?

Let’s examine it a different way.  What if it actually worked?  Holy cow, what an epiphany!  What if you paid money to work with coaches and they actually got you results?  What if you cut bread out of your diet, and it really wasn’t that bad?  Or better yet, you cut it out and lost several inches on your waist?  How awesome would that be?

Try new things, get involved, listen to your coaches, after all, what’s the worst that could happen?
