1 Million People….

I’m writing this blog on birthday.  Yes I’m working on a Sunday, on my birthday. I know, I should be taking it easy, but I like writing, so this isn’t really work for me, it’s more fun then you think.

Either way, I’m reflecting on the past 33 years of my life, and what I’ve accomplished so far.  I’ve earned a couple of degrees, and worked in a couple of different careers.

From time to time, the grind gets to me and I wonder if what I’m currently doing is worth it.  What’s the point?  There are many times where I regret decisions I’ve made.  Did I do the right thing?  Is the struggle I’m going through now worth it?  Are the sacrifices that I’m making worth the reward?

I’ve been thinking a lot about my personal mission.  Why am I here?  What do I want to accomplish?  What will be my legacy? These thoughts have been plaguing my mind lately.

One night a couple of weeks ago, in the middle of the night I woke up wide awake with a thought.  It was as if someone spoke it to me….

1 Million People was all the thought said.  When the thought came to mind, I knew exactly what it meant.  It meant that I’m supposed to help 1 million people.

That’s supposed to be my legacy.  As Steve Jobs put it, my ‘dent in the world.’

1 million people doesn’t sound like a lot when you say it quickly, but in actuality that’s a ton of people.  There are 653,000 people in the Memphis city limits just to put it into perspective.

I estimate right now that over the course of my personal training and group coaching career, I’ve helped about 2,000 people…..

That means I have 998,000 to go.  It truly is my mission to help bridge the gap between looking for the answers that one needs in their fitness, and accomplishing their goals.

I feel like I’ve got a lot of work to do, but I can’t do it alone.

I need your help.  I’m not doing it for the glory, to say that I’ve helped 1 million people.  I’m not doing it for fame and fortune.  I’m doing it because I feel I’ve been given this incredible gift and position to help people, and I will do my best to help as many people as possible.

It may take me a lifetime, but I plan on hitting that 1 million mark.

Will you help me?
