Most of us fail to finally achieve the results we want because we lack patience. More specifically we don’t hold consistent for a long enough time to achieve the outcome we really desire to achieve. We are all good for a small amount of time, but then there’s a threshold we typically hit that once we pass, we make decisions that are detrimental to what we are doing.
You do it, I do it, we ALL do it one way or another. One way or another we self sabatoge. We don’t realize it at the time. It starts with maybe I’ll do a little cheat here or there, or maybe I’ll skip this workout just this time, and before we know it, it has spiraled out of control.
How do we avoid it?
Here are a couple of tips…
– Set up systems that won’t allow you to have the opportunity to fail.
If I have candy in the house, I’m going to eat it, so I have to not have it in the house.
– Set some accountability
If you tell your friends you’re going to do something, and they make you report on how it’s going, you’re more likely to stick with it.
– Join a team of support
If you have someone there in the trenches with you, it’s more likely you won’t fail. You won’t want to let them down, and you want to achieve just like they are. Join a gym, or community, do things with friends, all of this will help you.
In the end, figure out what triggers the sabatoge and do your best to avoid those triggers. It’s easier said then done, I know, but when done correctly, you’ll achieve your results.
