We all know exercise is good?..ok, great for our bodies as well as for our kids, but have you ever stopped to think about how exercise affects brain function? A while back I ran across this lecture in the CrossFit Journal. Dr. Jon Gary, explains how exercise cross trains the brain. According to Dr. Gary, Harnessing the brain after exercise has positive results. While exercise alone won?t make you smarter, Gary says it improves ?the processing power of your brain.? In the studies on brain function after exercise, executive function, creativity and memory all improve.
Please take the time to listen to the lecture and think about what the effects are on kids as PE continues to get eliminated from schools.
What are your thoughts? Can kid?s performance in school actually improve by participating in daily exercise?
