Food sensitivities…

Recently I had a food sensitivity panel done.  Food sensitivities mean that you don’t necessarily have an all out reaction to them, but it does mean you can get some low level inflammation from eating those things.  When you are trying to dial in your health as much as I am, I think it’s important information to know.  My whole life, I have had issues, and I’m still struggling to discover what my optimal health looks like.  Of course, I’m the healthiest I’ve ever been, but I am always focused on being the best.  Anyway, I found out some fascinating things from this panel..

Here is a list of foods that I’m sensitive to:

Asparagus, Banana, Barley, Beef, Broccoli, Swiss Cheese, Chicken, Cocoa, Crab, Dill, Gluten, Lemon, Lettuce, Malt, Oats, Oregano, Green Peas, Black Pepper, Rye, Tuna, Wheat, Baker’s Yeast, Brewer’s Yeast

I know right, beef, broccoli, chicken, tuna, lemon and lettuce?  One of my highest reactions was to lettuce.  Who ever would’ve thought.  It just goes to show you that there is not one size fits all approach to dealing with human health.  I’m working on a rotational diet now, where I cut everything out that is inflammatory, and then start rotating things back in to see how I tolerate them.  If I can’t, than I may have to cut them out all together.  There is so much that we don’t know, it’s just fascinating to me.  Paleo is a good starting place, and if you stagnate there, it may be time to look at other things in more detail.  Ask me about nutritional counseling that we offer.  We are available if you are interested.
