Are you genetically predisposed to be fat? Are you genetically predisposed to be skinny? Are you genetically predisposed to have heart disease? How about this…. are you genetically predisposed to be lazy? Researchers at the University of Missouri of discovered a genetic predisposition in rats for laziness. How do you feel about that? Does that make you more comfortable in your decision to not do something about your health? Maybe you are just genetically predisposed to being lazy. Thank goodness!!! I thought you were just choosing to be lazy….. oh wait, you are. You see, we aren’t rats. We are human. Humans can make choices that overcome their genetic predisposition. The genetic excuse is just an excuse. Yes genetics plays a part in it, but even more so then genetics, what you DO plays the biggest part. I was not born into the best gene pool for health and fitness, but I make a choice everyday to do something about it. You should to. Choose to do something about it. It’s an interesting study, but if this is you, don’t use that as an excuse. Use this as a spring board to overcome your genes.
Make a decision today to do what you need to do to get healthy. It may be a harder road for some over others, but results still fall within your choice to achieve them…. see you at the gym!
