Learning to Ride a Bike?. CrossFit in Memphis

Do you remember learning how to ride a bike?  I still remember the day I did without training wheels.  My parent was pushing me, and I was saying the whole time I couldn’t do it.  Then I realized I was talking to myself, my parents were 100 yards back.  As soon as I realized they weren’t, I promptly crashed of course, but the damage had been done.  I learned how to do it by myself.  The confidence was now there.

CrossFit is very similar.  You ride with the training wheels, and hang out with your scaled versions of the workout quite often too long.  As coaches we try to push you, but sometimes you hold yourself back.  As we continue to test PR’s (personal records) this week, remember what it was like to ride your bike.  It’s time to take the training wheels off, and let your coaches push you to what you can do.  Remember, our job is to push you and make you do the things you think you can’t do.  Don’t hold yourself back because you think you can’t.  Go for it.  Believe in yourself, and you’ll be amazed at what you can accomplish!
