Setting the Example

Happy Halloween!

As a parent, I am always conscious of my decisions to do certain things, and the repercussions it may have on my children.  Our children are constantly watching us….. our every move.  If we eat crappy, they will eat crappy.  If we are grumpy, they will be grumpy.  If we do not exercise, they will not exercise.  On the other hand, if we eat well, they will eat well.  If we are happy, they will be happy.  If we exercise, they exercise.  My little girl the other day picked up a stick and starting overhead squatting it, unprovoked or taught.  She has seen me do it before and she wants to be like daddy.  My little girl likes to eat broccoli.  She sees me eat it.  I am by no means saying that I am the best parent in the world, but I am saying I strive to set a good example for my kids most of the time.

Here’s the kicker…. even if you aren’t a parent, people are watching you.  It may not be your kids, it may be your coworker.  It may be your neighbor.  By setting the example, and doing what you are supposed to do for you help, you can actually help others be happy.  If they see you succeeding and setting an example, you may actually save their life.  They may start emulating you, even if it’s a little bit, even if it’s unconsciously, they may start being healthier.  You have the power to change people’s lives, set the example and who knows what kind of affect you can have on others.

Partner WOD

One person is the Zombie one person is the living person

The living person begins the WOD and 10 seconds into the farmers carry, the Zombie begins the WOD and tries to catch the living person.  If the Zombie catches the living person there is a 50 Burpee penalty at the end of the WOD for the living person.  If the living person lives then the Zombie has a 50 Burpee penalty.

 Dumbbell or Goblet Front Squats x 20

400m Farmers Carry  

50 Sit ups

AMRAP 15 minutes
