One of the cool things about CrossFit is that we all have a common thing going on. We all do the same types of movements. We all know what it’s like to struggle through Fran. We are all training to be better at life.
Every gym just it a bit differently for sure, but constantly varied, high intensity, functional movement is the prescription throughout.
When you do that it lends itself to the ability to compete. Last week we competed at the Delta Throwdown. It was actually really fun. It’s fun to see how you stand sometimes and to test your limits. I never imagined that Jack and I would win the thing, but we did want to do our best, and we did. We went out there and gave it our all, and I’m happy with the result.
It’s really fun to have something to train for. Some of you may not know it, but I typically have to train alone during the day due to my schedule of coaching the classes etc. Even then, I still look at the whiteboard and pick someone to gun for. I’m still competing even if it’s just in my head. It makes me go harder, and it’s the beauty of CrossFit.
So I urge you, find someone that’s about your level and try to beat them. Even if they aren’t in your class. Pick that person, call them out on Facebook if you’d like. Be fun with it, and go out there and compete. You may surprise yourself with what you can do.
